The performance test of the fire pump system at PT Jotun Indonesia Plant 2 was conducted as part of the routine maintenance and reliability assurance program for the fire protection system. The main objective of this activity was to verify that all components — including the electric fire pump, diesel fire pump, and jockey pump — operate in accordance with the performance standards defined by NFPA 20 and the company’s internal safety procedures. Prior to testing, preliminary inspections were carried out to ensure the pump’s physical condition, electrical systems, and water supply were in optimal state for the test.
The performance test was executed by running the pumps under both normal and maximum load conditions. Key parameters such as discharge pressure, flow rate, motor speed, and system stability were carefully measured using calibrated instruments to ensure accuracy. Throughout the testing process, all systems operated smoothly under safe and controlled conditions. The automatic control system responded properly, and no abnormalities were observed during the test period.
The results of the performance test indicated that all fire pumps at PT Jotun Indonesia Plant 2 operated at optimal performance levels. The recorded discharge pressure and flow rate met the required specifications, with no signs of leakage, excessive vibration, or reduced system efficiency. Based on the evaluation, the pumps were declared fully operational and ready for emergency use. As a follow-up, the maintenance team recommended scheduling periodic performance tests to maintain the reliability and readiness of the plant’s fire protection system.
