Commisioning & Performance Test Diesel Fire Pump PT. Indo-Rama Synthetics Tbk

Purwakarta, October 4, 2021 – PT. Pro Engineering Utama successfully conducted the commissioning and performance test for a fire pump unit at PT. Indo-Rama Synthetics. The objective of this initiative was to ensure the proper installation of the fire pump unit and its compliance with the standards set by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), specifically NFPA 20 and NFPA 25.

Fire pumps are critical components in fire suppression systems, required to operate reliably at any time, especially during fire emergencies. To verify the operational efficiency and readiness of the fire pump, comprehensive performance testing was conducted.

The testing encompassed both automatic and manual systems. The automatic system ensures the fire pump can function without human intervention during a fire, while the manual system allows operators to control the pump directly if necessary.

The commissioning process involved verifying the physical installation and conducting an initial inspection to ensure all components were properly installed according to design specifications. Subsequently, a thorough performance test was performed, covering several critical aspects:

1. Flow Capacity Test: Ensuring the fire pump can deliver water at the specified capacity.
2. Pressure Test: Verifying that the water pressure generated is sufficient to reach all protected areas.
3. Reliability Test: Testing the fire pump’s ability to operate continuously for the required duration.
4. Responsiveness Test: Ensuring the fire pump can activate immediately when triggered, both automatically and manually.

These tests are crucial to confirm the reliability of the fire suppression system at PT. Indo-Rama Synthetics during emergency situations. The results of the performance test indicated that the fire pump unit functioned optimally and met the required standards.
