An assessment of the fire pump system was conducted at Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) Karaha in accordance with applicable NFPA standards, including NFPA 20 for the installation, inspection, and condition evaluation of stationary fire pump systems. The purpose of this assessment was to evaluate the operational condition, reliability, and readiness of the fire protection system to support emergency response requirements.
The assessment activities were carried out smoothly and in an orderly manner. During the inspection and functional checks, it was identified that the fire pump engine experienced certain operational issues. Several components were found to be not performing optimally and require replacement of specific parts to restore full compliance and reliable operation. These findings indicate that while the system remains functional, corrective actions are necessary to meet NFPA performance and reliability criteria.
Based on the assessment results, it is concluded that the fire pump system at PGE Karaha requires replacement of several components to ensure full compliance with NFPA standards and to maintain dependable operation under emergency conditions. It is recommended that the identified parts be replaced promptly, followed by re-testing and commissioning to verify system performance before being declared fully ready for service.
